all i want for christmas is you

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

Take back the holly and mistletoe
Silver bells on string
If I wrote a letter to Santa Claus,
I would ask for just one thing.
I don’t need sleigh rides in the snow,
Don’t want a Christmas that’s blue.
Take back the tinsel, stockings, and bows,
‘Cause all I want for Christmas is you

I don’t need expensive things
They don’t matter to me
All that I want, it can’t be found
Underneath the Christmas tree

You are the angel atop my tree
You are my dream come true
Santa can’t bring me what I need
‘Cause all I want for Christmas is you

I don’t need expensive things
They don’t matter to me
All that I want, it can’t be found
Underneath the Christmas tree

You are the angel atop my tree
You are my dream come true (dream come true)
Santa can’t bring me what I need
‘Cause all I want for Christmas is you
‘Cause all I want for Christmas is you
‘Cause all I want for Christmas is you

hey santa

If everyday was Christmas
If we could make believe
If everyone would care a little more
There’d be harmony

The city is covered in snow tonight
The children fast asleep
I’m waiting for him, but he’s nowhere in sight
And I wonder if he can hear me

Hey Santa
Hey Santa, Santa
I wish with all my might
Hey Santa
Hey Santa, Santa
Bring my baby home tonight

Why does it feel like it’s colder than winter
Even by the fireside?
My baby said that he’d be home for Christmas
And now it’s almost midnight
The Christmas lights up and down the street
Are such a sight to see
But all the presents by the tree,
They don’t mean a thing till he’s with me

Hey Santa
Hey Santa, Santa
I wish with all my might
Hey Santa
Hey Santa, Santa
If you hear me, won’t you hurry
Bring my baby tonight

I know your sleigh is full inside
But won’t you stop and give my baby a ride
I’ll be waiting by candlelight this Christmas
The Christmas lights up and down the street
Are such a sight to see
But all the presents by the tree
They don’t mean a thing
Santa, please hear me

Hey Santa
Hey Santa, Santa
I wish with all my might
Hey Santa
Hey Santa, Santa
If you hear me won’t you hurry
Bring my baby tonight

The Christmas lights up and down the street
The presents by the tree
I hear a knock, oh can it be?
My wish is staring back at me

Hey Santa
Hey Santa, Santa
I guess you heard me tonight, yeah
Hey Santa
Hey Santa, Santa
I’m underneath the mistletoe
With my baby tonight

Sleigh ride, Sleigh ride, Sleigh ride, with my baby tonight
Hey Santa
It’s Christmas time
Sleigh ride, Sleigh ride, Sleigh ride, with my baby tonight
Hey Santa
It’s Christmas time
It’s a merry merry Christmas baby
Sleigh ride, Sleigh ride, Sleigh ride, with my baby tonight
Hey Santa
It’s Christmas time

the girl that i knew somewhere

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

You tell me that you’ve never been this way before.
You tell me things I know that I’ve heard somewhere.
You’re standing in the places
And you’re staring down through faces,
That bring to mind traces of a girl,
A girl that I knew somewhere.

I just can’t put my finger on what it is
That says to me “watch out! Don’t believe her.”
I can’t give any reasons, girl,
My thoughts are bound down in a whirl.
I just can’t think who in the world was that girl;
I know I met her somewhere.

Someway, somehow this same thing was done.
Someone, somewhere did me this same wrong.

Well, goodbye dear, I just can’t take this chance again.
My fingers are still burning from the last time.
And if your love was not a game,
I only have myself to blame.
As that may be, I can’t explain.
Just ask the girl that I knew somewhere.
